Lineage 2 is a massively multiplayer online role playing game, (MMORPG), from the developers of NCsoft, the people responsible for such titles as City of Heroes and City of Villains, Guild Wars, Tabula Rasa, and many more.
The game is different from other massively multiplayer online games because it is staged as a prequel set 150 years from the first lineage MMORPG. When you play you create your avatar, and chose from one of 5 races that are available which are: humans, dwarfs, elf’s, dark elf’s and orcs, a sixth class the kameal that is available with the expansion. The game seems to play primarily on fighting monsters allot to earn enough adena to purchase the high priced weapons and armor you need to survive.
Adena is the currency used in Lineage 2. It comes from the monsters you play against, NPC’s, quests, vendors and other players in the game. The best way to make Adena is to sell items to players. There are certain items weapons and such that players need and are willing to trade their adena for from other people because of the high prices in stores. Other ways to earn adena is to farm items from quests or monsters and sell these to the vendors. A tedious process, but over time your Adena can add up exceedingly. Clans may also earn Adena by taxing the surrounding lands if they own a Castle in the area. Having good gear and items is vital to surviving and advancing in the game, which makes adena far more important in lineage 2 than the money system in most other massively multiplayer online RPG’s.
Players in the game may chose to become a fighter or a mystic profession to start out with; you can at level twenty, change into more advance professions then again at level forty. Once you’re set with the adena you want and the armor and weapons you need to thrive. You can do sagas, which are the main stories quests of the game. There is a lot of grind in lineage 2 meaning that is there is a lot of working up to levels by means of hacking through numerous monsters and quests
The look and the sound of lineage 2 is one of top notch quality, the game has an appropriate reproduction like orchestral music score that plays in specific regions of the game, and you’ll also see huge, beautiful vistas that are full of detailed cities and elaborate statuaries as well as highly detailed character models.
The game isn’t a pick up and go for everybody. There is a definite line drawn between the people that can handle the repetitive game play of this nature and those who cannot, but ultimately it’s up to you to decide.
I’ve finally decided to update the site a bit, moving the backend to wordpress and using the amazing grace theme. You can still find the old Lineage 2 Adena site here. I apologize if there may be some lag and issues as it will take me some time to manually update the installation.
I’m currently looking for guest writers who can contribute articles. Whether it’s short term or long term please feel free to shoot me an email.
This quest is the Totem of the Hestui quest given by Seer Tanapi in the main building of the Orc Village, in the southern chamber. He asks for 50 Kasha Parasites. This quest is ONLY for Orcs. Hunt Kasha Bears (lvl 15 aggressive, 430hp) in the northeast near the Frozen Waterfalls to collect the 50 Kasha Parasites.

Once you collect 50 parasites, the Kasha Bear Totem Spirit (lvl 17 aggressive, 445hp) will spawn and attack you. Once you kill it you will get a Kasha Crystal.
Talk to Seer Tanapi. He will take the crystal and give you a Totem Of Hestui.
Sell the Totem Of Hestui at a store for 5200 adena. Most important is This Quest is Repeatable!
I was just walking around and accidentally fell into this spot filled with level 8-10 monsters. They are stronger than Rakeclaw Imps and Goblin Grave Robbers. I have been hunting here for quite some time and only 1 person came by and hunted with me. So take this spot to your advantage if you are level 9-11 and find killing imp and goblins lacking the exp you deserve!
This spot IS in Orc Land so best if you are an Orc. This is the location on the map on where the spot is located.

There are only three types of monsters there: Kasher Timber Wolf, Rakeclaw Imp Hunter, and Mushrooms.

Be cautious of the imp and fungus, they both will help out if one of them are attacked nearby. The highest level is the fungus, than the imp, than the wolf.
If you have ever traveled from one village to another you may realize that some have lower prices on items and some may have higher. Vendor pricing is usually based on how far the village is from starting areas and how secluded they are. To understand how the vendors price the items there are a few things you need to know:
-Every item has a base price that never changes
-Each village will markup this base price by certain percentages (ex. all starting villages have a 15% markup from the base price)
-Villages that have castles will experience an additional markup (default is +5% EX: the Gludin markup is +15% and +5% of castle tax making it 20%)
-If a castle is controlled by a clan, the castle tax can be increased
The following is the current % markup of items base prices:
| Villages | Markup | Castle Tax |
| Starting Villages | 15% | 5% |
| Gludin Village | 15% | 5% |
| Floran Village | 15% | 5% |
| Gludio Village | 15% | 5% |
| Dion Village | 15% | 5% |
| Oren Village | 15% | 5% |
| Ivory Tower | 15% | 5% |
| Hunter’s Village | 30% | Most expensive location |
EX:
| Base Price | Starting | Gludio | Hunter’s | |
| Markup | 0% | 15% | 20% | 30% |
| Forest Bow | 136,000 | 156,400 | 163,200 | 176,800 |
Now when you go to sell your items to the shop, the shop will give you 50% of the base price of the item…EX: Forest Bow 136,000a x .5 = 68000a
So why is this information helpful to you?
1. you know which village to buy fromt that has the least % of markup when buying items (especially useful when marking them up yourself and reselling)
2. You understand the shop pricing mechanics of the game
3. You can use these equations to determine the prices you sell your items at
I hope this guide is somewhat helpful to those wondering about vendors and want to save and make money!

Basic Mob Hunting
You’ll normally collect more adena if you were to hunt solo rather than grouped. The amount collected is usually less unless your character is really gimp and are unable to solo mobs on its own. Ideally you should target gree/blue con mobs. Although they give you much less SP they do provide a good amount of adena for the time you would take to kill them. Make sure the mobs you are farming are not too tough and that you do not have much downtime. If you are caster, assure that you’re able to kill the mob with out having to use too much power. If you’re a tank, try not to lose too much life or you will end up sitting majority of the time you are farming. Find areas where there are less players and is loaded with mobs. Having to wait for respawns can waste alot of time. You also do not want to run into too many players farming the same mobs as you, hence it’ll reduce the amount of mobs for you to farm. Avoid using soulshots as well, they can cost alot of money and should only be used when you’re in danger of dying.
Questing
There are some quests that are actually worth doing but here are some basic questing tips you should keep in mind while completing them. Always try to complete the quests that provides the highest amount of rewards for adena and/or offers a very valuable item. Always accept quests that involves killing alot of monsters. It helps you level along with some good loots from time to time. You can also combine certain quests if they are within the same area, being able to complete multiple quests within the same route is much better than completing them seperately. Avoid traveling long distances because they take up alot of time, travelling time can be converted to farming time. Always keep a “scroll of escape” around. Good to use when in danger and good to save yourself time from travelling long distances.
Drops
There are many mobs that have good drops, but that doesn’t mean you should solely focus all your time on them. Drop rates are by chance and chances are you will spend more time killing them for nothing than actually being able to get that specific item. However, if you are farming an area with a bunch of mobs and there are some with good drops you would of course choose to hunt those first before the rest.
Buying and Selling
Avoid buying from NPC merchants. They usually tend to cost more than buying from another player in the game. If you are planning to purchase a new set of equipment or any other item, buy them from Giran. Taxes there are only 10% and when you buy in large amounts you tend to save alot more. Do not sell off your loots immediately. Try to find the best bargen for them. Look around for players who are spamming “WTB…”. They tend to offer a higher price than normal since they probably have important use of it. Private stores can be one of your biggest assets in the game. You can easily browse through a wide selection at various prices, although it may lag alot but sometimes it can be worth the time spent. You may also want to setup your own store as well when you want to sell off your items. Would be ideal when you go AFK for a long period of time or planning to go to sleep. Don’t start your store and stare at the screen though, that’s just silly and a waste of time. Avoid selling more than 3 items at a time, set price 5-10% below shop price. You should be able to get a good return within 1-2 hours.
Traveling Merchants
If you have extra adenas laying around and you tend to travel a bit for whatever reason, you can be a travelling merchants. Getting to Giran can take a while and lot of players would rather not travel there to purchase stuff unless neccessay. You can always buy a stock full of some items that are demanded within certain areas and sell them off at a higher rate than being sold at Giran. Arrows, healing potions and soulshots are commonly bought items throughout the game. Ideal to stock up a bit on those and setup a store in caves or where ever when you need to go AFK. From time to time if you know the market well enough, there are players who are in desperate need of adena and will sell their item at a much lower price than normal. You can easily buy that and resell later at a higher rate.
